Adventist Health St. Helena has been recognized with an ‘A’ rating three times running for patient safety by the Leapfrog Group and is the only Hospital in Napa County to receive this recognition.

Accredited Center By The Commission On Cancer Of the American College of Surgeons
The Commission on Cancer (Coc), a quality program of the American College
of Surgeons (ACS) has granted Cancer Program Accreditation to the Martin-O’Neil
Cancer Center at Adventist Health St. Helena. To earn voluntary CoC accreditation,
the Martin-O’Neil Cancer Center met 100 percent of the 24 CoC quality
care standards, demonstrating a level of excellence in the delivery of
comprehensive patient-centered care.
Joint Commission Advanced Primary Stroke Center Certification
Adventist Health St. Helena completed the Joint Commission’s stroke
survey and is now recognized for meeting the necessary standards to support
better outcomes related to stroke care. The Joint Commission’s accreditation
for Advanced Primary Stroke Center at Adventist Health St. Helena validates
the hospital’s abilities and practices in preventing and treating strokes.

Adventist Health St. Helena Medical Center Receives Top Honors for Surgery Safety and Outcomes from Consumer Reports
Consumer Reports has rated U.S. hospitals on patient safety during and
after surgery. St. Helena Hospital has received top honors regarding Surgery
Safety and Outcomes. Consumer Reports’ Surgery Ratings are based
on an analysis of billing claims that hospitals submitted to Medicare
for patients 65 and older, from 2009 through 2011, and cover 2,463 hospitals
in all 50 states, Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico.
Adventist Health St. Helena Medical Center was ranked in the top 10% of California hospitals and as a high performer
in Orthopedics, according to the 2013-2014 U.S. News & World Report
Best Hospitals
In addition, of the 19 hospitals in Napa and Sonoma counties, only St.
Helena Hospital Napa Valley met the standards for strong performance.

ratings and 2 special awards from Healthgrades, the leading online resource

Adventist Health St. Helena Medical Center was awarded the Pulmonary Care Excellence Award™ from Healthgrades®
The Pulmonary Care Excellence Award recognizes hospitals for superior outcomes
in treating chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and pneumonia.
COPD is a serious lung disease and a leading cause of death and disability
in the United States. Pneumonia is a life-threatening condition resulting
from inflammation and fluid in the lungs. Patients needing pulmonary care
have a lower risk of dying at hospitals recognized with the Pulmonary

patient safety indicator — postoperative pulmonary embolism or deep
vein thrombosis rate.
